I'm combining April and May into one post in order to catch up and so I can spend more time practicing up on my new machine. Here we go...

1930s print baby quilt for Marilyn G.

And here's a closeup of the baby quilt. I put her granddaughter's name (Bailey Lila) in the pink inner border.

A Second Gift Quilt for JoAnn H.

I've finally finished the second quilt for JoAnn H. This one is going to her daughter and like the first one, is made of her husband's shirts. Her husband passed away after a brave fight with pancreatic cancer. And once again, thanks to Peggy E. for her help cutting and piecing the top.

Meet the New Fusion!

>> Monday, June 1, 2009

I've upgraded to the new HQ Fusion, and I'm so excited! It will be arriving bright and early Thursday morning, and then I'll be busy practicing up on some new techniques, brushing up on some of my favorites, and becoming familiar with my new machine.

A little information about the Fusion:

  • High-quality professional machine
  • Stitch regulator creates perfectly even stitches every time
  • Longer arm for larger quilting area
  • Professional table and roller system holds king size quilts
  • Improved roller system creates more even distribution of fabric during quilting
Although the stitch regulator is computerized and creates stitches that are uniform in size, my designs are still done freehand style and are not computerized in any way, so the difference you will see on your finished quilt will be in the even stitch length. Stay tuned for a customer appreciation promotion coming in the near future...

About . . .

Quilting is good therapy. It all started about 18 years ago when I had two little kiddos running around the house in diapers and spent my days as a stay-at-home mom. I soon discovered that I needed something more interesting than sorting laundry to keep me going. That's when I discovered the joy of quilting. Now, years down the road, I've added another kiddo to the mix. We've said goodbye to diapers and hello to driver's licenses and college (yikes!), and I have many quilts behind me. I now have a studio in my basement with a long-arm machine where I keep myself busy quilting for others and for myself, too, when I get the time. I hope you enjoy looking at what I've been working on!
